Our Parental Engagement includes
  • Annual class meetings in the autumn term to inform parents of the curriculum, the staffing and timetable in the child's class.
  • Two parents meetings in October and February to inform parents of their child's progress.
  • An open afternoon in July to share children's work with parents.
  • International Language Event held in February
  • Sharing assemblies - Parents are invited to watch their children celebrate their work and achievements in Friday sharing assemblies once a half term
  • Regular Open lessons for parents to observe learning
  • Workshops to support parents to help children with their learning
  • Involvement in Winter and Summer school fairs and fund raising
  • Programmes for pupils during term time as well as holiday workshops, for e.g. Idea Store & BMX workshop held in October
  • Annual family trip - the last two years have been to Victoria Park
  • EYFS ‘stay and play’/weekly parental meetings/parents encouraged to join on trips
  • Sports Day
In partnership with 6 other local schools, through the Stepney Partnership, we are promoting parental engagement in children's learning.
  • GCSE maths and other courses to support and develop parents own learning needs offered at Stepney Green School
  • Father's Week in June - a range of activities engaging fathers in their children's learning e.g. family football, family kite making, mini Olympics
  • Stepney Partnership Family Homework themes include Water, the Environment and Christmas
  • Stepney Partnership Family Holiday Activities e.g. kayaking, trips to the theatre and museums
  • Transition workshops for Year 5 and 6 children with their parents
  • Family trips - an annual trip including parents e.g. to the Aquarium
Parent View
Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think about your child’s school. The survey can be completed at any time; you don’t have to wait until the school is being inspected.
