Smithy Street pupils have access to an online maths learning platform called Mathletics.
http://www.mathletics.com
Mathletics activities are occasionally used as exercises in school the main use is for home learning. Teachers will ensure children are familiar with the website/app and know how to log in and start the activities independently so that they can quickly access the materials at home.
The children access Mathletics through their own unique username and password. This gives them access to all the mathematical games, resources and activities on the site/app. Upon logging on, your child will not have access to all the games and self-choice learning activities until any specific activities set by their teacher have been completed. This makes it ideal for homework tasks which can be tailored to the exact needs/level of each child. Parents can also sign up for results of pupils learning on Mathletics to be emailed to you via the parents section of the site.
For children who do not have access to the internet at home, the school will be running a Mathletics homework club several times a week which your child may attend. Priority for this club will be given to children without internet access at home.
Mathletics can be accessed on a computer or laptop via the web address www.mathletics.com (the device will require flash player to run the programme) or link on this page.
A free easily installed Mathletics app can also be downloaded via Google Play or the Apple store and ought to run on all tablets and smart phones. (Ensure the Mathletics student app is installed rather than the Mathletics teacher app.).
