Year Three Trips
St Dunstan's Church Trip
Year Three paid a trip to our local church, St Dunstan's to take part in an art workshop. The old stone building also gave them a perfect chance to place their recent Science learning on rocks into a real context. The pictures show some of Laura's class enjoying the workshop and then hunting for different types of rock around the building.
British Museum Trip - Jun 17
Year Three headed up to central London to visit the British Museum to look at some of the exhibits relating to their topic on Ancient Egypt. Whilst the journey on the tube was hot and stuffy the museum was cooler and as can be seen in the pictures, the children enjoyed interacting with the exhibits.
Thames Boat Trip to the Tate Modern - Mar 17
Year Three had an exciting day with a visit to the Tate Modern to support their recent art work. Rather than travel by tube they children were treated to a boat trip down the Thames allowing them to see the famous buildings of London, supporting their recent Geography topic work on iconic landmarks.
East London Mosque - Nov 16
Our Year Three classes paid a visit to the nearby East London Mosque as part of their RE project on Islam and the local community. The pictures below show 3R finding out about some of the practices in the mosque.
Autumn Walk Artwork - Nov 16
Inspired by the natural resources on their Autumn Walk, Laura's class worked on art compositions and patterns. Their fantastic designs can be seen in the pictures below.
St Dunstan's Church Trip - Oct 16
Both year three classes made trips to St Dunstan's church during the first week of October. The churchyard gave the class a great chance to apply the learning about rocks and stones that had taken place in September back in the classroom.
